Corporate Rowing Challenge 2017
This is our second year on the corporate rowing scene, but being the oldest rowing club in New Zealand (156 years so far) we have more than enough rowing experience to put on a great event! With our knowledgeable coaches, well maintained plant, and passion for the sport we provide a team building experience like no other!
Rowing has a proud place in New Zealand sporting History, and following the sports exponential growth over the last decade, Canterbury Rowing Club is giving you the opportunity to see what all the fuss is about. Through our Corporate Rowing Challenge you have the opportunity to develop an environment of camaraderie, team work, trust, and a strong sense of company pride as your team work together to towards becoming the fastest CRC Corporate Rowing Crew of 2017.
We are also in the planning stages of something extra special for the race day this year which is definitely not something to be missed! we will release more details on this once things are confirmed.
On the water
Learn how to row in an 8 oar boat under the guidance of your very own coach, all building up to racing at the 500m CRC Corporate Regatta on Sunday 15 October at Kerrs Reach.
12 training sessions spread over 5 weeks, with morning, evening and weekend sessions available
We have specifically timed our event so you can make the most of the start of summer, with three weeks of training after daylight savings starts, you can enjoy the lighter evenings and warmer conditions!
All you need is a minimum of 8 people per training session (we suggest a squad size of at least 10 rowers), and a mix of men and women.
And don’t forget about the indoor rowing team relay event! Its your chance to intimidate the other teams and stake your claim as the team to beat come race day!
Our coaches are sourced from the ranks of our current and past club rowers, who all have a passion for the sport as well as years of rowing experience under their belts.
All training sessions are based at the Canterbury rowing club boat shed at Kerrs Reach.
